A leading supplier of PVC Compounds, used in nearly all areas of plastics processing is looking for a night shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the team. Along with a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, you will also receive access to an onsite canteen, a pension scheme, free parking and life insurance.
You will be working night shifts, 22:00-06:00.
What youll do as Electrical Maintenance Engineer: - Ensure that all machines are maintained safely & efficiently in accordance with all relevant legislation and that the Companys legal responsibilities in regard of equipment installation & maintenance are fully complied with.
- Participate in operational projects across the site.
- Carry out maintenance checks of equipment & day to day repairs, adjustments & improvements.
- Take responsibility for carrying out Breakdown resolution, Planned Preventative Maintenance activities & working with the Lean ethos to ensure highest standards on machine condition.
- Liaise with the production team to ensure that business requirements are satisfied by making sure that activities are carried out promptly & correctly.
- Implement improvements within the operation. As required installs, decommissions, recommissions, tests, etc capital equipment. Must be electrically biased.
- Deal with machine breakdowns to ensure that the site can maximize throughput and meet customer demand.
- Maintain site services and facilities.
- Focus on saving cost on maintenance work and contributes to cost reduction initiatives.
- Plan and manage individual and team projects.
- Ensure that Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to including the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
Were looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer with: - Strong practical and legal knowledge of Mechanical engineering/maintenance
- Qualified electrician - Level 3 electrical engineering qualification or equivalent
- Experience in the role in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of extrusion, mixing & blending machines is advantageous but not essential.
- An understanding of product and process quality requirements and how machine condition impacts on these.
- Know and can apply the techniques of Planned Preventative & Total Productive, Maintenance to improve machine condition, improve product quality and reduce downtime.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Welding qualification/experience would be an advantage (MIG & Stick)
- Able to read engineering drawings.
